Like UNICEF, faith-based organisations understand the importance of serving the world's most vulnerable people. The core beliefs that unite many communities of faith are human dignity, a dedication to ending injustice and a commitment to care for the marginalised. These principles are also essential in effecting global change to protect children. UNICEF Australia works with faith-based partners to learn from each other, advocate and fundraise in support of UNICEF’s global work.

Partnering with UNICEF Australia
Our faith-based partnerships are customised to the organisation and the impact they want to have on the next generation. UNICEF's partnerhips range from individual congregations holding year-end fundraisers to an entire denomination intent on making a collective impact. Through their donations and/or lending their voices through their faith and interfaith networks, it's about joining together to create a better world for children.
An interfaith movement to achieve the greatest impact for children
When communities, organisations, and people of all backgrounds come together, they have the power to create real, lasting change for children around the world. That’s why, in March 2025, UNICEF Australia invited representatives of all faiths for an interfaith Iftar - an evening meal where Muslims break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
Faith-based and civil society organisations play a crucial role in helping UNICEF reach the most vulnerable children, leveraging their trust-based connections in communities all around the world. The interfaith Iftar was filled with dialogue and good food, opening up space for meaningful cooperation and collaboration.
In the words of Rev Bill Crews, UNICEF Global Faith Circle Envoy, “At the heart of all religions is loving compassion. Let us reach out to each other and share that love and, bit by bit, the world will change.”

Faith partnerships in action
We proudly partner with faith-based organisations to reach children with lifesaving support. UNICEF is non-political and impartial, but we’re never neutral when it comes to defending children’s rights. We team up with organisations and non-profits with shared objectives, to make our respective strengths, expertise and resources go further for every child.
